John, I’ve seen the MAGA movement’s playbook in one election after the next — since before they were ever even called “MAGA.”

It started before Donald Trump was a candidate, when he began to spread the conspiracy theory about President Barack Obama’s birth certificate.

Now, we see Trump and his running mate JD Vance promoting more baseless conspiracy theories designed to fearmonger and incite hatred, fear, and distrust in our communities.

It is profoundly sad. It is anti-American. And it goes against everything that the words in our Constitution and on the Statue of Liberty say this country should be about.

I believe that we can take a different path, and build a more just, loving nation. And I believe that Vice President Kamala Harris will be the kind of president that will help us do just that.

But this election is no sure thing. If the election were held today, we could lose.
