The Israeli military has killed more than 40,000 people in Gaza since last October, and the Gaza Ministry of Health just published a new 649-page document with the identifying information of more than 34,000 of those deaths. Horrifically, the first 14 pages are filled with the names of infants under the age of 1 year old, children who were born and killed during this 11-month genocide.

And this week, the Netanyahu administration carried out multiple coordinated attacks on thousands of people in Lebanon and Syria, detonating explosives in handheld pagers and walkie-talkies that killed 37 people and injured thousands more, including civilians and children.

As long as the United States keeps sending billions of dollars in weapons and bombs to Israel with no conditions or accountability, the Israeli government will feel emboldened to continue violating international law. Our government has been responsible for over 65% of Israel’s weapons imports since 2013, making our government complicit in these crimes against humanity.

Meanwhile, the American people continue to stand united against the use of our tax dollars to enable this violence. New polling from The Intercept shows the majority of voters on all sides oppose sending more weapons to Israel — that number has only grown over time, from 52% in October 2023 to 61% in June.

Senator Bernie Sanders just introduced a resolution in the Senate demanding an immediate arms embargo against Israel, and Justice Democrats like Ilhan Omar couldn’t agree more:

It’s growing clearer by the day: this genocide and violence against innocent people will not end as long as the U.S. continues to supply Israel’s military with arms under no conditions. As Ilhan said, we should not send another dime.
