Here's something you may not know about me, John.
Back in my college years, and even for a bit during my producing days, I was a semi-pro pool player. 🎱

Â
Believe it or not, some of the most important skills I developed at the pool table I still use today as a legislator. I learned that people like playing mind games when they want to win, and being one of the few women in a male-dominated sport taught me how to be strategic --
and not be intimidated.
As a candidate for Congress in a field of mostly male counterparts, it's not lost on me that the statistics aren't exactly in my favor. Less than 30% of our federal representatives are women.
In fact, I'd be the first woman ever elected here in CA-30.
But I've learned to channel that pressure by staying focused on what winning actually means:
delivering results. That's why I’ve taken on some of the toughest challenges -- not because they’re hard, but because they’re important.
- I've been a champion for efforts to improve street safety, increase affordable housing stock, and protect our climate.
Â
- I led the effort to improve transparency and keep people safer from sexual harassment and retaliation in the state assembly.
Â
- I’ve even taken on online ticket sellers to ensure Californians can see their favorite performers without price-gouging.
I'm running for Congress because we need proven, effective leaders in Washington that have a track record of delivering results. And I hope you'll join me by making a small contribution to my campaign.
