John
As students and teachers return to their classrooms, questions about safety and curriculum are top of mind.
Teaching Black history in schools is once again in the headlines. So are reports of school shootings and concerns about school safety laws.
You can make a lasting, irreversible impact, John, by helping us lead on all things education, including defending Black history and keeping our children safe.

Our communities are pressed to find legal and practical solutions to their concerns. Meanwhile, right-wing conservatives are on a ruthless crusade to rewrite American history to maintain the corrupt, racist systems that exploit working families and threaten our democracy. By doing so, conservatives aim to reinstate the policies, laws and cultural norms that cemented Jim Crow at every level of society.
That's why Color Of Change, the nation’s leading online civil rights organization whose mission is to create a more human, less hostile world for Black people, is deeply engaged on behalf of students, parents and educators. Defending Black history, fighting against attacks on educators and keeping the next generation safe from harm is how we honor the legacy of the civil rights organizers who gave us the blueprint for responding to the many injustices in the world around us.
Let us explain how your $10 donation will make an impact on the world around you.
$10 will help us to round out our policy team with subject matter experts who come from the communities and backgrounds that are best equipped to advocate on behalf of our members.
$10 can help us reach legislators across the country who sit on committees where our priorities will be heard, considered and brought to a vote.
$10 can allow us to host another #DefendBlackHistory School Board Training and Storytelling Workshop and partner with organizations such as the National Education Association.
$10 is what we need to raise awareness about why Black history needs to be taught in our schools and why books such as "To Kill A Mockingbird", "The Color Purple" and "Beloved" must be part of the curriculum and available in libraries.
Back to school is not just for young people and teachers. It’s a moment for our community to reflect on what’s most important and to remind the people where we are, where we’ve been, and where we’re going next.
Making an impact is possible when we work together. Now here's your chance. Donate $10 or more to Color Of Change to transform the movement for justice, equality and joy into an unstoppable force.
