Thanks to Vice President Harris, Democrats are energized about Election Day. Messages of hope and joy have permeated the news cycle, uniting Democrats across the country around progress. On the other hand, the Republican Party has used its campaigns to spout vitriolic racism and sexism.

From implying that Kamala Harris does not deserve her career to made-up stories about immigrants eating pets, the GOP has used its platforms to spread hate, dividing us even further. We shouldn’t be surprised, though, because we know the GOP doesn’t have a record or platform to promote. Instead, they have to take low blows against vulnerable communities.

Instead of hate, Kamala Harris and the Democrats are spreading hope. Instead of division, the Democrats are pushing for unity. We can’t unite this country without your support, though. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of the hate being pushed by Republican leaders. As your Congresswoman, I’m focused on the issues facing my constituents, but the GOP doesn’t seem to agree with that strategy. 

Instead, the GOP—including Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance—wants to villainize people who don’t look like them. They want their constituents to fear other groups and turn against their neighbors. I want to pass legislation.
