Team, as future President Kamala Harris put it during last week’s extraordinary debate, she represents a new generation of leadership for our country.

But VP Harris isn’t alone. These FIVE Senate candidates are part of a younger generation of leaders who are fighting to move our country forward.

Colin Allred: Colin was raised by a single mom and earned a scholarship to Baylor University, where he graduated in 2005. He later played in the NFL, became a civil rights lawyer, and is currently serving his hometown in Congress while raising his two young sons. He’s running for Senate because Texans deserve a leader who puts their needs over Donald Trump’s.

Debbie Mucarsel-Powell: Debbie came to the U.S. from South America at age 14 with her mom and sisters to escape violence and build a better life. She was the first South American-born immigrant to serve as a member of Congress. Today, Debbie is running for Senate to defeat extremist Rick Scott, all while raising two teenage daughters and taking care of her elderly mother.

Angela Alsobrooks: Angela is a mom, lifelong Marylander, and a leader in her community. She entered public service at a young age, becoming an anti-domestic violence prosecutor before making history as the youngest and first woman to be elected Prince George’s County State’s Attorney. Today, Angela is running for Senate to fight for affordable childcare, strong public education, healthcare access, and more to help Marylanders thrive.

Ruben Gallego: Ruben grew up poor and worked hard to earn a place at Harvard. After graduating in 2004, Ruben enlisted in the Marine Corps and deployed as an infantryman to Iraq. When he returned to Arizona, he entered public service to fight for veterans and working families. Today, he’s running for Senate to tackle high costs, protect our rights and freedoms, and ensure the next generation has a bright future — all while raising two young kids.

Elissa Slotkin: Elissa is a third-generation Michigander who decided to enter public service after witnessing the 9/11 attacks firsthand. After spending three tours in Iraq with the CIA, Elissa worked on national security in the Bush and Obama White Houses. After her mother died of ovarian cancer in 2011, bankrupted by years of medical debt, Elissa decided to run for office to ensure all Americans could access affordable healthcare and life saving medications. Now, she’s ready to take her fight to the U.S. Senate.
