Today, I have just a few quick questions for you, John. They’re about public integrity.

Look, what's happening in City Hall right now is deadly serious. The alarming reports about corruption plaguing Mayor Adams have reached a fever pitch.

1. Do you think we need more accountability from the Adams Administration? [[link removed]]

YES [[link removed]]
NO [[link removed]]

We don't have all the details. But the headlines are gravely concerning – suggesting that a lobbyist or an unregistered lobbyist may have secured meetings with siblings for clients, suggesting bribery of Department Chiefs, suggesting misuse of police resources, and suggesting corruption in no-bid procurement.

2. Do you think we should strengthen the City’s contracting rules to prevent corruption? [[link removed]]

YES [[link removed]]
NO [[link removed]]

We also have urgent work to do to root out fraud and corruption in our City government. That’s why yesterday I released a 4-step plan to guard against corruption and strengthen oversight in City contracting.

I’m calling for new rules to prevent nepotism, stronger oversight of subcontractors (we’re currently paying billions to subcontractors that no City agency ever approved), and increased transparency.

3. Do you think City Hall should stop using no-bid, emergency contracts on a routine basis? [[link removed]]

YES [[link removed]]
NO [[link removed]]

Time and again, my office has worked to rein in the Adams Administration's rampant use of no-bid, emergency contracts — like the $432 million contract they awarded DocGo, or a $5 million contract we rejected last week that they NYPD wanted to give to a contractor who is literally under indictment for procurement fraud.

The bottom line, John? New Yorkers deserve honest leadership and so much better than we’re getting right now.

So please let me know what the answers to these questions are. [[link removed]] I know what mine are, but I want to hear from as many New Yorkers as possible.

Thanks,

Brad
