| Fellow American,  When President Trump was still in the White House, we were negotiating with the Taliban about an Afghanistan withdrawal. President Trump was adamant about a conditions-based withdrawal, meaning we would slowly withdraw our forces only if they did what we told them to do and abided by our rules. President Trump and Mike Pompeo were in the room with Taliban leadership and one translator. Here's what Trump told the Taliban leader: "I want to leave Afghanistan, but it's going to be on a conditions-based withdrawal," as the translator interpreted. "If you harm one hair on a single American, I'm going to kill you." The translator paused and looked at Trump, shocked by what he was instructed to translate to the Taliban. President Trump doubled down, telling the translator to "Go ahead, tell him what I said!" as Trump reached into his pocket, pulled out a satellite photo of the Taliban leader's home, and handed it directly to him. Our fearless leader then stood up and walked out of the room, leaving the Taliban leadership with the most direct threat he's probably ever heard in his life. President Trump led a one-sided negotiation with one of the most dangerous groups in the world, leaving it at "Either you do what we say, how we say it, and when we say it, or we kill you." That's what I call leadership. It's my favorite President Trump story, and every time I think about it, I remind myself how important it is that Republicans win this November. We need strong leadership back in the White House and across the nation. And "across the nation" means as many political offices as we can win, from the White House to Congress.
