The Green Party of the United States recently awarded $1000 to support Toya Lopez's campaign for state legislature in Minnesota.

I’m a health professional, community leader, queer latine, and a Green Party / Socialist candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives District 61A.

These are the issues that you will find prominent on my campaign's web site, where you can learn much more about me.  I am, and will always be, a community organizer rising to the occasion for my neighbors, our health, and our planet.

Justice goes beyond electoral politics, past mobilizing around these issues. I desire for my campaign to support our growing movement toward revolutionary systemic change. It’s an honor to work, sing, dance, grieve, and collaborate with the many resilient communities of Minneapolis, MN. 

Cash awards from the Green Party US, like this $1000 award given to Toya, are granted by the GPUS Coordinated Campaign Committee. The grants are possible because of grassroots donors like you.  None of these funds comes from corporate or establishment interests; they come from our annual budget allocation or from direct contributions from you.   More than $20,000 has been granted in the last 18 months to candidates at local, state, and congressional levels.

Green Party candidates make applications for these grants to us, GPUS’ Coordinated Campaign Committee.  We vet the applications and when we find them worthy we strive to be as generous as possible within our financial means.

Your contribution to either the general funds of the Green Party of the United States allows us to support more great candidates like Toya, whose activism and direct challenge to the neoliberal capitalist war-mongering establishment are positive, radical steps to change US politics.
