John, here’s where we are with Marcellus’ case:
FIRST: The office of St. Louis County’s very own prosecuting attorney filed a motion to vacate Marcellus’ conviction.
AND THEN: At an Aug. 28 hearing, the office of Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell conceded that the prior administration made constitutional errors that contributed to Marcellus’ unreliable murder conviction and death sentence — and that it would be WRONG to move forward with the execution.
AND NOW: After Circuit Court Judge Bruce Hilton denied the motion to vacate Marcellus’ conviction and death sentence, the Missouri Supreme Court is moving forward with Marcellus’ scheduled execution on Sept. 24.
