In this election, ballot initiatives are center stage with 10 across the country focused on abortion. One thing is clear: we need truly exceptional leadership to help mobilize communities to vote for measures protecting the rights of women and birthing people.
Rhiannon Carnes, the tenacious executive director of Ohio Women’s Alliance, knows the leadership it takes to win ballot initiatives in a divided state. As a Black woman and healthcare worker, she led the organization that turned out 1.3 million voters to make abortion legal in Ohio.
