Hi John, it’s Sen. Pam Jochum with the IA Senate Dems. Before I ask you to chip in any amount you can spare to help IA Senate Dems retake the Senate Majority, I wanted to address the state of reproductive rights in Iowa. 

Less than 2 months ago, the Iowa Republican legislators pushed a 6 week abortion ban into effect.

And Iowans are already feeling the consequences, John.

A restrictive 6 week abortion ban is not going to stop someone who is not ready to be a mother, from getting an abortion. 

It will just force them to jump through more hoops to get the care that they need—and we already see this happening, John. 

Iowans are forced to take time off of work and incur hefty travel expenses so that they can cross state lines to get the reproductive care they need.

This is neither sustainable nor fair to Iowans.

IA Senate Dems knew this would happen from the start, John. It’s why we fought tooth and nail to stop this bill. We trust women to make this decision.

And we will continue to fight for reproductive rights to be a conversation between the person and their trusted medical provider—but we need your help to build up our coalition. 

This week’s debate showed Americans that Kamala is the only candidate who is fit to lead our country, and the momentum is showing 0 signs of stopping. Will you help IA Senate Dems secure a blue victory here in Iowa by chipping in $15 or more today?
