Dear friends,

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones well as we close another week of physical distancing to control the spread of COVID-19 in New Hampshire. I know that there are many questions about what comes next as we face this global pandemic together. The road ahead will not be short or easy. We will face challenges as we move forward in our effort to combat the coronavirus in our communities. That’s why as we look to the future, it is essential that we have plans in place that will facilitate a responsible and safe reopening of our economy.

That's why this week, I unveiled my “Roadmap to Recovery.” This set of proposals outlines measures that should be part of the equation as we identify steps forward in the COVID-19 crisis. You can read more about my “Roadmap to Recovery” on WMUR HERE

The “Roadmap to Recovery” outlines the need to address both the health and economic consequences of COVID-19. We need to ramp up testing, contact tracing, and support for those who must quarantine as well as continue to invest in financial resources for struggling individuals, small businesses, and municipalities. By thoughtfully preparing for the reopening of our economy we can save lives and more responsibly restart economic activity in New Hampshire.

I know these have been trying times but by staying connected and supporting one another we will overcome COVID-19. I’m heartened by the stories of kindness I read every day from around our state. From people sewing masks for first responders to driveby birthday parties, it’s clear that these challenging times bring out the best in us. Thank you for your friendship and everything you are doing to make New Hampshire stronger.

Onward,

Annie
