Dear Jack,
Between in-person early voting starting, expanding civic opportunities for our youth, and my office's continuing legislative work, there is already so much to tell you about. And that’s without even mentioning the amazing events and the many great and ongoing conversations I have had with community leaders all across Loudoun.
For all that and more, please consider taking a moment to read through this month’s Reaser Report. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions that you may have after reading.
Early Voting Starts This Week!
The Election Season is approaching faster than you think and our office is here to help you through it. Three election contests will be on all Loudoun residents’ ballots this year, and every single one of them is incredibly important. While the race for the Presidency is always the most visible, we can’t forget about the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives races.

I know we often hear that each election is the most important election yet, and I know how that can sound after hearing it repeatedly. Perhaps each one has been at the time, and perhaps this one means we take a turn back towards some normalcy in discourse. I believe that there truly is a lot on the line this year. So, regardless of your party affiliation or previous engagement with the civic process, I want to encourage you to check your registration and make sure you're ready to cast your ballot.

House of Delegates Page Program
Are you or a student you know interested in serving in the Virginia House of Delegates? This long standing program, which has been running since 1847, invites Virginia youth between the ages of 13 and 14 to participate each winter at the historic Virginia State Capitol and General Assembly Building in Richmond, Virginia.
The House Page Program is designed to equip students for active citizenship, with a focus on the lawmaking process. Participation in the program benefits students and democracy alike by strengthening leadership traits and developing workplace skills. A successful candidate should be driven, self-motivated, committed to working with others, and demonstrate a positive attitude in all activities.
The application is available on the Capitol Classroom section of the Virginia General Assembly website. Applications must be completed and submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024.

Prefilling Legislation for the 2025 Session Continues
My office and I are hard at work putting together my portfolio of legislation for the 2025 Legislative Session. We have received wonderful feedback from the community and experts, making this a grassroots movement at its core. I have begun the legislative process and submitted several bills for drafting, and there are plenty more on the way. If you have a problem that needs to be addressed through legislation, please do not hesitate to contact me and share your thoughts. I am here to serve you!

Elected Vice Chair of the Commission on Civic Education
During this year’s first meeting of the Commission on Civic Education, my colleagues unanimously voted to elect me as the Commission’s Vice Chair. I remain deeply invested in education policy as a whole, and specifically with the civic education of our youth. VPAP Introduces Civics Navigator
The Virginia Public Action Project, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide as much transparency on Virginia’s civic process as possible, has just launched Civics Navigator. This addition to VPAP’s already expansive website holds data on a wide range of categories, including elections, campaign contributions, lobbying, and so much more. On top of that, Civics Navigator can display visualizations of this data to help better understand what is happening at our State Capitol. This application is designed for use by all types of educators, such as those who teach at public schools, private schools, home school, and higher education institutions. But, that doesn’t mean that a curious soul can’t go and check it all out for themselves!

Bridge Closure in Eastern Loudoun
The Thomas Ave. bridge, spanning over Sugarland Run was determined unsafe to cross, and has been closed indefinitely. Signs of significant deterioration were found following an inspection conducted by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
[[link removed]] [[link removed]]
With the bridge’s closure, traffic will be rerouted via Lakeland Dr. (SR 821), Leesburg Pike (SR 7), and the Algonkian Pkwy (SR 6220). New construction and repairs to the bridge are expected to begin in late 2027.
I will be briefed by VDOT early next month and will provide an update on any developments in the next newsletter.

How My Office Can Help You
Navigating state agencies can be confusing and difficult at times. As your delegate, I can help you communicate with state agencies such as the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC), Departments of Taxation, Social Services, Transportation, and more! I can also submit inquiries with those agencies on your behalf and help you engage with the state agency you need. There are limits to what I can do, however. For example, I am unable to expedite cases or force state agencies to favor your inquiry, provide legal advice or recommend a specific attorney, intervene with judicial issues, overturn decisions, or be involved with matters involving private businesses.
Whether you want to bring an issue to my attention, need my office’s assistance, or want to invite me to a community event, please reach out! If there is any way I can assist you, please let me know here: [link removed] [[link removed]]
