As a first-generation Mexican-American, my story reflects the dreams and struggles of many in New Mexico’s 2nd.
I never envisioned myself running for Congress. But in 2017, when I saw all the hateful things MAGA extremists were saying about people like my mother — who is a proud Mexican immigrant, single mom and hard worker — I knew New Mexico needed someone who would step up and fight for all of the hardworking people looking to achieve their dreams.

Since 2017, hateful extremist rhetoric has only escalated from people like my opponent, Donald Trump, and J.D. Vance.
J.D. Vance even referred to Democrats as “a bunch of childless cat ladies” — before blocking a bill that would establish the right to seek IVF treatments. If that’s not hateful, I don’t know what is, John.
