In previous emails, I shared how the winner of our Smart Bets Pitch Competition can win up to $100,000 in awards.
Today, I’d like to break that down and share the specifics of our prize packages. Atlas Network is offering three separate awards:
1) All ten Smart Bets participants receive $25,000 for joining the exclusive, year-long program.
2) Of the three partners who will advance as finalists to New York City, two will each receive a runner-up prize of $25,000. The winner will take home a $50,000 prize.
3) Finally, our top performer throughout the 2025 calendar year will return at next year’s Liberty Forum & Freedom Dinner, where they will receive the Smart Bets Impact Award and an additional $25,000 prize.
So, one of our partners in this new Smart Bets class has the potential to win up to $100,000 in prizes.
I also want to explain how the class structure works, as the timeline and class overlap can be confusing…
First, the September 25 virtual pitch competition marks the first appearance for the 2025 Smart Bets class.
They’re competing for prizes that they can win at this year’s Liberty Forum & Freedom Dinner, and that they’ll use to support their projects throughout 2025.
At this year’s Liberty Forum & Freedom Dinner, we’ll also award our Smart Bets Impact Award to the top performer from the previous Smart Bets class.
So, for the new Smart Bets class, you’ll hear from them at this year’s pitch competition, next year throughout the year, and one last time in November 2025, when one of them will win the Smart Bets Impact Award.
To use a sports analogy, it’s kind of like an NBA season… and if the seasons briefly overlap...
Really, it’s just a consequence of Atlas Network having so many award opportunities for our best-performing partners.
And that’s ultimately what the Smart Bets program is all about: Providing our most efficient partners with resources to make an even bigger impact advancing freedom around the world.
