### **So Much for Moderation in Taliban; Women Are Being Punished**

The Taliban has made it clear that they never meant to provide women’s rights. There’s no such thing as moderation. Women are treated like third-class citizens. Schools are off-limits to them. And many are silenced, quite literally. Even laughter is illegal for women.

What was simply a “way of doing things” has now been written into law. And the morality police around the country love nothing more than to hunt the violators down and punish them to the fullest extent of the law.
