I don't say this lightly:

If we want to have future elections, we have to make sure that we don't elect the person who has told us that he believes you can terminate the constitution.

Donald Trump is an existential threat to the functioning of our democracy and it's up to all of us - Republicans, Independents, and Democrats - to come together and stop him.

Donald Trump has already told us-- and shown us-- what he will do in a second term. He will refuse to abide by the rulings of our courts. He will refuse to defend the sanctity of our elections. He will hire the most extreme advisors and ignore the confirmation process in the senate. He will hire corrupt lawyers and promise pardons to anyone concerned about the illegality of his actions. He will pardon the January 6 criminals--including those who brutally attacked police officers that day.

He is unwilling to guarantee the peaceful transfer of power. He has said he believes he can terminate the Constitution.

And that's why I believe this election is not about policy or party as much as it is about whether or not you want to live in a constitutional republic.

Friend, I travel the country a lot speaking with many people. These conversations make me hopeful and optimistic that the majority of Americans want their children to grow up in freedom. They want a president their kids can look up to.

They want to know that the president can be trusted to guarantee the peaceful transfer of power.
