John, on
September 4, two students and two teachers were shot and killed at
Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia: Mason Schermerhorn, 14,
Christian Angulo, 14, Richard Aspinawall, 39, Christina Irimie, 53. Nine
more people were injured.
Politicians have been hard at work sending their “thoughts and prayers” so
they can move on. But we won’t let them. We have to hold leaders in power
accountable. Let’s be clear: they have the power to change this. Gun
violence is a preventable tragedy. We don’t have to live like this.
That’s why we’re co-hosting a rally alongside the Georgia Youth Justice
Coalition and Change for Chee at JB Williams Park this Friday, September
20 at 12:30pm.
We’ll be standing in solidarity with the Apalachee High School community,
and showing our leaders that we will not forget and move on. We will
continue putting pressure on adults in power until we get the life-saving
gun safety legislation we deserve.
Youth across Georgia will be standing up. We refuse to be ignored!

The strength of our movement is in our numbers. This is a critical
opportunity to hold leaders accountable and that’s why we need all the
resources we can get.
Together we can organize and prevent another senseless tragedy like this
from happening in Georgia or anywhere else in the country.
Thank you for your support,
Team March For Our Lives
