I am reaching out today to ask you to chip in to the campaigns of two badass Michigan women who are running for Congress: Callie Barr and Jessica Swartz.

If you are already bought into the importance of their races and flipping the U.S. House, please use this link to make a contribution:

Let me tell you a little bit about these two candidates.

Born and raised in North Michigan, Callie is running to represent the First Congressional District, which covers the UP and much of Northern Michigan. She is a former teacher, lawyer, military spouse, mom, and veterans’ advocate. After caring for her husband, a U.S. Marine who served two tours in Iraq, through combat injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder she became an advocate for veterans, active duty military members and their families to receive the care that they need.

Jessica is an attorney who has spent much of her career working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, working to ensure veterans got the benefits they have earned while cracking down on waste, fraud, and abuse. She’s running to represent West Michiganders in the Fourth Congressional District.

Both Jessica and Callie are running to put partisanship aside and deliver common-sense solutions for Michiganders. I am thrilled to be endorsing their campaigns.

It takes courage to put yourself up to run for office, and all the more so in Republican-leaning districts. They are doing the hard work of showing up in communities that may not have seen a Democrat in a while, much like I have done in the redder communities that I represent. And in three tough elections, we have proven that this kind of work can pay off.

So will you chip in to help Jessica and Callie in their campaigns for Michigan’s First and Fourth Congressional Districts?
