Crypto Comes For Sen. Sherrod Brown:
$32 Million in Ads Boosting His Opponent

Rolling Stone reports that Crypto billionaires "are spending $800,000 a day to take out one of their chief critics in Congress." That critic is Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio.

In Ohio, The Toledo Blade adds:

A big reason over $100 million more has been spent in Ohio than in the second most expensive Senate race is the all-out effort by cryptocurrency advocates to defeat Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown.

If the crypto billionaires win this race, Dems will lose the Senate majority – and likely lose the chance to eventually replace Clarence Thomas on the Supreme Court. Regardless of who wins the White House, a Republican Senate majority would be disastrous.

Cryptocurrency creators have at least four political action committees devoted to campaign 2024. Three of them are pouring money into support for Republican Bernie Moreno and attack ads against Mr. Brown.

The goal of the cryptocurrency creators is to rein in rules set by the Securities & Exchange Commission with statutes from Congress that regulate crypto. Once established as a legitimate asset class, cryptocurrency can go after the $21 trillion 401(K) and IRA accounts supporting workers’ retirements.

Senator Brown has been an impediment to the crypto industry’s goals, pointing to payments to terrorists, gun runners, money launderers, data hackers, human traffickers, and fentanyl dealers as the key service provided by cryptocurrency.

The truth is, these crypto-billionaires want to be free to defraud people and their retirement savings of billions of dollars while their infrastructure is used to finance terrorism, organized crime, and drug trafficking.

Sherrod Brown is in their way because he is doing his job as a senator.
