Just a year ago, the suspect was questioned by the FBI for online threats. After that confrontation, the suspect's father bought him the AR-15-style rifle that he would end up using to murder four people and wound nine others.

With a more thorough investigation and commonsense gun laws, this could have been avoided entirely.
