Hi John,

You can tip the balance toward tax cuts and now’s the right moment to do it.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s minority government is unstable, so all parties are scrambling to get ready for a possible election.

Right now, it’s more important than ever to drag government waste into the light.

That’s because the next government will start by implementing its platform. If you want tax cuts after the election, you have to make sure those commitments are in the platform.

Exposing wasteful spending is key. Every dollar of waste they can cut is a dollar of tax relief they can promise. What you need is a bloodhound to track down the waste stories.

Here’s the good news: you have an investigative journalist named Ryan Thorpe.

Ryan’s already broken huge waste stories:
* The Governor General spent $71,000 on limos in four days;
* The CBC handed out millions in bonuses; and,
* The Mission Cultural Fund wasted thousands on live shows where seniors in other countries told sex stories.

(Actually, Ryan exposed so much waste at the Mission Cultural Fund that Trudeau had to scrap it himself).

Ryan has so much more work to do. He needs to hire more freelancers. He needs to file more access to information requests. And he needs to get more lawyers on the case when the government doesn’t release documents as required.

Will you make sure Ryan has the resources to ramp up our investigative journalism and identify wasteful spending to make room for tax relief? Just click the link below to go to our secure donation site:

* No – I’d rather not donate today (if you want to tell us why, please click this LINK ([link removed]) ).

Remember: every government waste story you expose makes room for a tax cut in an election platform. But parties are writing their platforms now. So this is the time to take action.

Thanks for standing up for taxpayers – you’re making things better.

Have a good one,

Todd MacKay
Vice-President, Communications

PS: Remember when we used to have newspaper subscriptions that paid for investigative journalism? This is the same thing. And $10 makes a difference. You can chip in on our secure donation site by clicking here: [link removed] ([link removed]
