Demand that Keir Starmer commit to fairer voting, or risk the hard work being undone

Today is Keir Starmer’s 75th day as Prime Minister. And we’ve heard very little about fixing the broken democracy that caused the mess he’s cleaning up.

Don’t be fooled by his super-majority in Parliament. Labour won on a rock-bottom turnout with just 1 in 3 votes.

Majorities built on such shaky foundations can collapse as quickly as they are built. And they can easily be replaced by dangerous parties like Nigel Farage’s.

Now is not the time to be complacent. Momentum is not infinite and nor will be Keir Starmer’s political honeymoon.

55,688 people have added their name to our petition calling on Keir Starmer to commit to Proportional Representation (PR) in his first 100 days. Only 25 days remain.

PR will make everyone’s vote count, removing the need for tactical voting. It will force parties to work together for the common good, on important issues like fixing our NHS, protecting our planet, and ending inequality.
