Many communities across the Amazon in Latin America are experiencing
extreme energy scarcity.

They lack reliable electricity to heat water and cool their homes, pump
clean water to their communities, and store life-saving medications in
refrigerators.

And the unreliable energy that they can access comes from a system
designed to prioritize fossil fuel companies and multi-millionaires, and
not the communities and the planet. Enough is enough.

reality faced by communities all over the Global South.

facing extreme energy scarcity and whose communities are being destroyed
by fossil fuel exploration.

This is a global crisis that requires a global solution.

That is why activists all over the world — from Latin America to Africa —
are standing up to the fossil fuel industry by mobilizing communities and
leaders to create their own sources of energy and take their future — and
their power — into their own hands.
