I’ve got some disappointing news.

Today, yet again, Senate Republicans defeated Democrats’ efforts to protect IVF access. This is the second time since June that the GOP has voted against the Right to IVF Act that would secure access to these treatments while making them more affordable.

This is a huge defeat for reproductive freedom, John. In February, Alabama’s Supreme Court ruled that embryos created with IVF were “children” under state law, causing many clinics in the state to stop or restrict their services. Without strong protections for IVF services, these treatments will continue to be threatened.

From IVF to abortion, Democrats support the rights of all Americans to access the reproductive care they need – whenever and wherever they need it.
