As rent prices soar and homeownership becomes a distant dream for many, the housing crisis continues to affect our most vulnerable communities.

I’ve seen firsthand the impact this crisis has on hardworking families who are forced to make impossible choices between paying rent and buying groceries or between affording childcare and keeping the lights on.

This is unacceptable, and it’s why I’ve made fighting for affordable housing a top priority.

I’ve been proud to support policies that would finance billions of dollars in new affordable housing construction and continue the fight to increase the minimum wage because no one working full-time should struggle to afford basic necessities.

That’s why I’ve introduced bills such as the Lifeline Act, which would make American Rescue Plan funds available for affordable housing developments receiving low-income housing tax credits.
