Fellow Conservative,

Democrats are trying to cement their agenda into law for another year. If they succeed, their priorities will be funded regardless of the election outcomes. At the same time, they are trying to block conservative efforts to ensure that only American citizens can vote in American elections.

We must encourage conservatives in the House to stand strong and not fall for the trap by passing a six month continuing resolution (CR). This would take away the Democrats’ opportunity to back conservatives into a corner and force them into passing a massive “omnibus” spending bill right before Christmas.

Furthermore, Democrats are punting on election integrity. Conservatives have combined fiscal responsibility with election integrity by attaching the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to the CR.

The SAVE Act is a common-sense, bipartisan bill that ensures only American citizens can vote in American elections.

Many states allow driver’s licenses as proof of citizenship to vote, but proof of citizenship is not required to attain a driver’s license.

The SAVE Act would close several loopholes to bolster election integrity. If Democrats want illegal immigrants and other non-citizens to vote, they can explain that to the American people. Republicans must remain united in support of election integrity.

The combination of the CR and the SAVE Act will save taxpayer dollars and secure our elections for years to come. We can’t allow the Democrats to quash both efforts.
