🍽 This Saturday: 16th Annual Douglass-Debs Dinner 🍽

Each year since our Atlanta DSA chapter formed in 2006–except for a two-year pandemic gap–we have invited Atlanta’s progressive community to our Douglass-Debs awards dinner, to help us honor outstanding role models and leaders, celebrate our accomplishments during the previous year, and enjoy an evening of comradeship. Last year’s dinner resumed this tradition with great success, so we plan to come together again on Saturday, September 21st.

The dinner is a great opportunity to meet with other community activists and hear from inspiring speakers. Ticket sales and patron contributions will raise funds for our coalition partners, local community organizing, labor union strike support. Reduced-cost tickets will be available for students and other low-income comrades. For more information about event programming, ads in the dinner program, or reserving a table, contact us at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you there!

☕ Starbucks Solidarity Flyering! ☕

Starbucks is one of the most profitable companies on the planet. As workers, Starbucks Workers United is building a movement to have a real voice in determining and sharing that success. SBWU’s next round of contract negotiations is soon, and they’re asking allies across the country to show up in support of the union as part of Red for Bread Weekend!

Join us outside our local Starbucks at 1861 Peachtree St NE at 10:30 am on Sunday, September 22 to stand in solidarity with union baristas across the country, and to hand out fliers to customers that tell them why we’re proud to take our coffee union strong!

🏳️‍🌈 Pride Parade & Art Build!🏳️‍🌈

Last year, Atlanta DSA joined labor unions and the Atlanta North-Georgia Labor Council to march in the Atlanta Pride Parade! It was so much fun that we're doing it again. Sign up HERE to march in the parade Sunday Oct. 13, and join us later on for some art builds and planning meetings. All are welcome - invite your coworkers and union siblings!

Sign up for our art build later this month - Monday Sept 30th to help design props and signs for the march! RSVP HERE!

👻Halloween Parade Oct. 20💀

A specter is haunting ATL...👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻.!

For the first time ever, Atlanta DSA will be joining community members and organizations to march in the annual Little 5 Points Halloween Parade! Sign up to march with us, and show Atlanta that socialism really ain't that spooky! RSVP here for the parade, and also join us for an art build on Sept. 30. Let's get those corporate ghouls!

🌹 Logo Redesign Contest! 🌹

Are you an ATL DSA member who wishes our chapter had a neater logo? We want to see your ideas! Submit your logo designs by September 23, 2024. Upload your design and tell us why you think this should be our chapter's new logo.

How will the logo be chosen? We'll vote on the best design amongst the logo finalists at the September General Meeting! Once we've decided, we can print shirts, buttons, stickers, and more.
