On August 2, as Israel bombed schools, shelters, and massacred Palestinians in Gaza, Chevron and its Israeli partners approved an investment of $429 million to expand its fossil fuel extraction and production activities.
We've told you before how Israel’s war machine is fueled by Chevron, and now a new report from Oil Change International & partners shows that continued and expanded fossil fuels are essential to Israel's ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people.
Over the last year we've been building a global movement to hold Chevron accountable for its crimes and complicity in gross violations of human rights, and now it's time to escalate. Our international partners are calling on all #BoycottChevron activists to plan an action September 20-27. Before you take action, sign the #BoycottChevron pledge here, and then join us in action or plan your own event next month.
New research from Oil Change and partners names the countries and companies that continue to fuel Israel's war machine, despite the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) stating Israel is plausibly committing genocide and that the occupation of Palestinian territory is unlawful. This updated analysis highlights the ongoing complicity of these countries and companies, including Chevron, in activity that is not only immoral, but illegal. But as more and more Palestinians are killed in bombings and pressure intensifies on global leaders to end the genocide, these suppliers continue to enable the violence.
That's why we need everyone to escalate their actions this September – as the United Nations meets in New York City and global pressure for a ceasefire increases. Chevron needs to feel the heat and end their dirty, illegal, and genocidal relationship with Israeli fossil fuel.
There are lots of ways to take action. You could:
Together, we will show Chevron that it's time to ditch the Israeli war machine, and build a safer planet free from fossil fuels, war, and global warming.
