John,
Today is National Voter Registration Day, and it comes at a critical moment for our democracy and our fight for a fair tax system.
A disturbing New York Times investigation has revealed that election skeptics across the country are challenging hundreds of thousands of voter registrations.[1] These challenges disproportionately target communities of color and young voters―two groups that are also adversely impacted by our unfair tax system.
In Georgia alone, a small group of MAGA activists has filed more than 100,000 individual challenges, successfully removing thousands of names from the voter rolls. This is happening in a state where the last presidential election was decided by fewer than 12,000 votes.
These voter purges are more than just an attack on our democracy, they're an attempt to silence the voices calling for tax fairness and economic justice.
Here's what you need to do right now:
We're working tirelessly to educate voters about what's at stake in this election. We're demanding that candidates and elected officials make tax fairness central to their campaigns. We're exposing how billionaires and corporations exploit loopholes in our tax system to concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a few.
After you've checked your voter registration, click here to donate and fuel our fight for tax justice!
Thank you for helping us combat voter suppression efforts that threaten to silence advocates for tax fairness.
Together, we can build a democracy and a tax system that works for everyone.
