Hi John,
I am reaching out today with an important update about voting in our race. Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order that the Board of Elections is to mail all registered New York primary voters an application to request an absentee ballot.
I am writing to share information to ensure you know how to vote during these confusing times. Submitting your absentee ballot application will allow you to cast your vote safely and without potentially exposing yourself to the virus. The process is very easy and should only take a few moments.
You can download an absentee ballot request now from our website, www.goroffforcongress.com/vote-by-mail, or submit the application that will be mailed to you. Either way, here are the steps to submit your absentee-ballot request, according to the Suffolk County Board of Elections:
- Check off the “temporary illness” box in section 1 on the application
- Provide all other information on the form
- For the electronic form, save and email the form as an attachment to [email protected]. For the hard copy form, mail to Suffolk Board of Elections, PO Box 700, Yaphank NY, 11980, no later June 16 or delivered in person no later than June 22. The earlier you submit the absentee ballot request, the sooner you will receive your absentee ballot.
Please make sure to share this information with your family, friends, and neighbors who live in New York to ensure they can all vote without putting their health on the line.
Thanks and happy voting!
Nancy
