Team — Donald Trump was in California for a high-dollar fundraiser, and he took the opportunity to attack his least favorite Californian — yours truly. And to cast doubt on our election, saying that my opponent will win if it’s an honest election.

Team, this is just another of a dozen attacks Trump has thrown my way.

“Watermelon head,” “Pencil neck,” “Fat ugly face,” “Shifty Schiff,” the list goes on.

But that wasn’t all. He also cast doubt on California elections, saying that my opponent, Steve Garvey, would win if we had an honest election. There he goes again — setting up another big lie for when he and Garvey lose.

Heck, if he spent half the time he does on big lies and insults, he might have more than just “concepts of plans” to talk about on the campaign trail!

But he doesn’t. Because this is classic Donald Trump. All flash and entertainment, insults and attacks to get another cable news hit — with no substance or plans to deliver for the people of California.

And these relentless attacks on me are a part of his campaign strategy to win in November. Trump and his enablers focus their attacks on me because they know that no one has been more effective at holding him accountable for his lies and misdeeds, and nothing infuriates his supporters more than the reminder of how I stood up to him.

In the House, I impeached him and served on the Select Committee on the January 6 Attack. In the Senate, I’ll keep fighting his assaults on our democracy and hold his biggest enablers accountable.

His obsession is the highest compliment — it means I’m doing my job.

I’ll always stand up to Trump and anyone who attacks our democracy. But for us to respond before their vicious lies take hold, I need your support. With Trump mentioning that he hears my GOP opponent, Steve Garvey, wants the MAGA endorsement, and Garvey already airing millions of dollars in TV ads across our state, we need the resources to respond right away. I’m counting on you.
