John -

The climate crisis is here, now, and the communities least responsible and
often most vulnerable are bearing the brunt of its impacts.

The U.S. and other Global North countries are fueling the climate crisis.
As long as they fail to make good on their promises to pay for solutions,
the world won’t have the resources to invest in a clean and sustainable
future for all.

John, we’re fighting for a safe, livable planet — and to be
successful, we need to understand the global dynamics around climate
finance in our fight for climate justice.

COP29, the annual United Nations climate meeting, is taking place in
Azerbaijan this November. One of the most important things that will be
decided there is a new global agreement on international climate finance.

So, John, this is a pivotal time to engage in an overview of
these upcoming negotiations, U.S. climate finance spending, and how
worsening U.S.-China relations are becoming a major political barrier to
critical climate action.

On Thursday’s webinar, Hanna Homestead from the Institute for Policy
Studies will moderate a conversation between leaders in this work such as
Analyah Schlaeger dos Santos from Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light,
Valentina Dallona from Justice is Global, and Kelly Stone from ActionAid.

Together, we’ll engage in crucial conversations about why divesting from
militarism and investing in diplomacy is critical to achieving just
climate solutions for a more secure future for all.
