John — one of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned through years of organizing is that real climate victories often begin in the races that don’t make national headlines. It’s in those smaller state and local races where winning the fight for our planet begins.

That’s why we’re doing things a little differently today. I’m starting my Climate Champs of the Week series! Every week, I’m going to introduce you to a few of the boldest, JanePAC-endorsed candidates who are fighting to turn the tide on climate in their communities.

And this week, we’re heading to Arizona, where three incredible candidates are ready to shake things up.

With these endorsements, we have a historic opportunity to elect a pro-climate majority to the state legislature and undo years of damage caused by corporate polluters.

I know this email is on the longer side, but I promise it’s worth the read. If you’re short on time, you can skip to the important part: Click here to split a donation to JanePAC’s candidates of the week! [[link removed]]

First up, we have Judy Schwiebert, running for the Arizona State Senate in Legislative District 2. Judy is a current state representative, lifelong educator, mom, and community leader who’s spent decades preparing Arizona’s kids for the future. Now, she’s taking action, fighting for water protection, air quality, repealing the ban on monitoring greenhouse gas emissions, and a healthier future for Arizona’s families.

With her work in the Arizona State House already making a difference, Judy’s now running in a key swing district for the Senate. Her victory could be the key to building a pro-climate Senate majority, and her experience makes her the ideal person to lead the charge to protect Arizona’s natural resources.

Next on the list is John McLean, running for the Arizona State Senate in Legislative District 17. John’s story is one of deep roots — he’s a third-generation Arizonan who’s dedicated his life to building up his community, advocating for the environment, and pushing the boundaries of innovation. What’s John bringing to the table? A fierce determination to tackle Arizona’s water crisis head-on.

LD17 is a competitive district, and John’s background in both business and public service perfectly positions him to lead the charge on smart water management. He’s seen what happens when leadership sells out to foreign corporations, and he’s not about to let Arizona’s water get drained for profits. John’s race is critical — and his vision for a secure, sustainable Arizona is exactly what we need to turn the tide.

And then we have Stephanie Simacek, running for the Arizona House of Representatives in Legislative District 2. Stephanie’s story is one of resilience and service. She’s a teacher, a mom, and a fierce advocate for her community, but what really sets her apart is her unwavering commitment to addressing Arizona’s water and environmental crises.

As a mother, she’s fighting for our children’s future, and as a public servant, she’s pushing for solutions that put conservation, sustainability, and innovation front and center for all Arizonans. In a tight race like this one, Stephanie’s leadership could be the key to flipping the House and securing a pro-climate majority.

These three candidates are fighting for the future of Arizona — and the planet. They’re up against entrenched interests and corporate polluters, and they need our support to get across the finish line.

Can I count on you to split a donation between Judy, John, and Stephanie? Every dollar helps fuel their campaigns and gets us one step closer to flipping these seats in November. [[link removed]]

Stay tuned for next week’s edition!
