Dear John,
We are less than two months away from the highly anticipated #CDFAlumniHomecoming! We are thrilled to reconnect with our incredible community of past CDF staff, scholars, and volunteers who have dedicated themselves to building dignity, hope, and joy for America’s youth over the last 50 years.
If you were a part of CDF Freedom Schools® as a scholar, Servant Leader Intern, Ella Baker Trainer, a Beat the Odds® scholarship recipient, served on our board or an advisory council, participated in the Black Community Crusade for Children ®, or were a member of CDF staff—JOIN US! This special event takes place on October 18-20, 2024, at #CDFHaleyFarm in Clinton, Tennessee.
During these three unforgettable days, we'll honor distinguished alumni, celebrate our shared legacy, and engage in meaningful discussions during the National Observance of Children's Sabbaths®. This interfaith experience will address the urgent issues affecting children and youth across America, featuring a special address by CDF Alum and current White House Senior Advisor on Public Engagement, Rev. Thomas Bowen.
Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan will also be one of three CDF alums who will be honored with our Advocate of Joy award. Flanagan, who previously served as executive director of CDF-Minnesota from 2013 to 2016, has been regularly applauded for her work to improve the well-being of children and young people in the state of Minnesota.
