As of today, there are only 6 months between now and Election Day, so as one of our strong supporters, I wanted to touch base to fill you in on what’s been happening in the campaign recently.
With everything going on, I made the decision to stop sending fundraising emails over a month ago. I would not be able to look at myself If I was asking for money for our campaign at a time when people were losing their jobs, going weeks without hearing from the unemployment offices, closing their businesses they spent lifetimes building, or taking out loans to pay their employees who are as close as family.
As a result, like many organizations, we’ve had to make cutbacks to our budget, but I stand by the decision 100%. Unfortunately, my opponents don’t feel the same. They’ve been asking for money for their campaigns throughout this crisis - essentially asking their supporters to fork over a portion of their taxpayer-funded stimulus checks to fund their liberal campaigns!
Frankly, I disagree deeply with their callousness, even if it puts my campaign at a financial disadvantage. I also think this highlights why it is so important that we come together to win in November:
Our community cannot afford to have elected representatives who prioritize themselves over the communities they ask to represent. My one and only mission is to do everything I can to fight for you and our community with the same tenacity I did in war!
There is still a lot of uncertainty, and I know we are not through this crisis yet, so I will keep fighting every day to help the people of Florida’s 18th Congressional District!
Thank you for your continued support.
