Are you passionate about improving education for the children and youth of Philadelphia? Do you want to play a vital role in addressing the educational inequities that affect our schools? Dear John, We are excited to announce an important initiative that aims to improve education in Philadelphia: the Philadelphia Education Data Collective! This project, led by Research for Action (RFA), works with community members to become researchers and use data to address educational inequities in our schools. We're looking for our initial group of community researchers to get started. Selected community researchers will have the opportunity to: Identify and address educational issues that matter to you and your family. Participate in hands-on training in research and data analysis, guided by professional researchers. Receive a stipend of $1,300 for your contributions. The commitment includes attending 1 or 2 training sessions per month from October 2024 to October 2025, which will consist of both in-person and virtual meetings, along with some independent work. To learn more about this initiative, we invite you to attend our informational webinars on September 25th or 26th at 7 PM. This is a fantastic opportunity to ask questions and understand how you can get involved. If you know you want to be involved, please fill out this brief application form. Please share this information with your networks and encourage others to participate. Together, we can shift the power of data into the hands of our community and work toward a brighter future for our children and youth.
