Hey friends — yesterday we emailed you about the reckless plan by WA Senate Republicans to put politics over public health by re-opening our state before it’s safe.
Their plans would put Washington workers at grave risk and force them to choose between their paycheck and their safety.
In honor of International Workers’ Day, we’ve put together a quick poll and we want to hear directly from you. Click here to let us know what you think about these anti-worker tactics.
Washington workers help to keep our state moving, and many of them have been hit the hardest during this crisis. Today and every day, we will show them our support.
Begin forwarded message:
Folks —
Last week Washington GOP Senator Ann Rivers said that WA workers don’t want to come back to work because “they’re making so much money on unemployment”.
As millions of families across our state are struggling to make ends meet during the COVID-19 crisis, WA Senate Republicans are implying workers are being greedy.
This is despicable and reveals an ugly truth: the GOP wants to reopen our state faster, putting countless Washingtonians at risk, just so they can cut off people’s unemployment benefits.
We want to hear directly from you: What do you think about these GOP anti-worker tactics? Click here to take part in our International Workers’ Day poll today →
Should Washingtonians have to choose between their safety and their paycheck by being forced to return to work before scientists and public health experts say it’s safe?

From advocating for fair and equal wages, to promoting paid sick and family leave, to increasing unemployment benefits — supporting workers has always been a core Democratic value.
WA Republicans, on the other hand, are showing their true colors — arguing our workers and all Washingtonians should risk their safety to satisfy corporate special interest donors. They’ve even said the planned minimum wage increase for next year should be frozen.
Let your voice be heard by weighing-in through our poll today: https://secure.ngpvan.com/d1KjHLjjkEmOSPYTeIPC0Q2
Washington workers are pivotal to our state’s success and deserve to know their leaders are standing with them — in times of crisis, and all year long.
Thank you for helping us celebrate International Workers’ Day and all workers today.
