John,

Last week, my colleagues joined me as I called on Governor Shapiro and the General Assembly to act immediately to address the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s $240 MILLION budget shortfall.

SEPTA is more than just a transit system — it’s the lifeline that connects our community to vital opportunities in education, employment, and daily life. For many, it’s the only way to get to work, school, or even medical appointments.

Sign the petition and join me in calling on our leaders in Harrisburg to secure the funding SEPTA needs. [[link removed]]

If this deficit isn’t addressed soon, SEPTA could be forced to raise fares and cut services as soon as next year. This would hit our most vulnerable residents the hardest — workers, students, seniors, and families who rely on affordable, dependable public transportation.

Public transit is the lifeline of every major city in America — and Philly is no exception.

We can’t allow this shortfall to force service cuts that will undermine our community’s progress and our city’s growth. Add your name if you agree: The governor and our legislators must act to fully fund SEPTA! [[link removed]]

Thanks for standing with me,

Council President Kenyatta Johnson
