[link removed] [[link removed]] John,
The Judicial Conference—a national policy-making body for the federal courts—is holding their annual meeting today.
We just joined a letter requesting that it finally wrap up its nearly 1.5 year review of Justice Clarence Thomas’s financial disclosure discrepancies (related to he secret trips with wealthy friends) and refer the matter to the Attorney General for a full investigation.
Since the torrent of shocking stories of Thomas’s corruption began last year, scrutiny of the ethics crisis of the Supreme Court has reached an all time high, and confidence in the Court has reached an all time low.
Clarence Thomas has undermined the public's trust in the ability of the Court to faithfully and impartially discharge its obligations and to apply equal justice under the law. We need to do everything in our power to push for meaningful reforms and restore faith to our judiciary.
We need to take urgent action to hold Clarence Thomas accountable and advocate for a binding ethics code for the Supreme Court. Support our fight for accountability by making a donation to CREW today → [[link removed]]

Even before Clarence Thomas’s recent ethics scandals came to light, CREW was pushing for a stronger code of conduct for the Supreme Court.
In 2022, it was clear the judicial ethics regime simply wasn’t cutting it. The Wall Street Journal reported that 131 federal judges violated the law by hearing cases in which they had a financial interest in one of the parties, and 61 judges actively traded stocks related to a party to an ongoing case.
That problem extends to the Supreme Court, where Justice Samuel Alito owns stock in dozens of companies.
So two years ago, we sent a letter [[link removed]] urging the Judicial Conference to act swiftly to close ethical loopholes and ban stock trading among judges and Supreme Court justices.
We’ve been focused on judicial ethics for years now, and we’re going to stay focused until we get a binding code of conduct and term limits for the Supreme Court. It’s clear public opinion is on our side—and now so is the White House. Let’s keep up the momentum.
CREW has always and will continue to fight for judicial ethics reform and accountability for the justices who serve. Please, donate to CREW to help us continue fighting for reform → [[link removed]]
