Today is National Voter Registration Day, and with just a few days before ballots arrive in mailboxes, I wanted to share why voter registration is so important in our toss-up seat. Here in the Valley, we have tens of thousands of people eligible to vote but they haven’t taken the step to register. In a race that could come down to a few hundred votes, we HAVE to make sure these people register to vote!
That’s why our volunteers are prepared with voter registration forms in hand at every door they knock. We know the best way to get people involved is to make sure they are registered to vote!
Voter turnout wins elections, especially in hotly contested races like ours. Whichever side gets their voters to show up and return their ballots will win this competitive race. With such a large Latino community in our district, it’s also critically important for us to reach out to historically disenfranchised communities and make sure their voices are heard too.
This is how we win — by making sure every voice is heard.
