TODAY at the Shirlington Library we're having our Meet the Eboard GenBod session - there will be an overview of how we're organized, the kind of work we get up to that you may not see day to day, and a chance to hear from some of our officers about what it takes to keep this engine running. If you feel inspired, reach out to one of us and ask how to run for one of these positions for next year!

We're out to to VA 10th Purcerville, VA to help out Suhas Subramanyam for VA's 10th Congressional District. We’ll meet up at 8:45 am to carpool out by 9 am in order to arrive in Purcerville for the 10 AM canvass launch. We should arrive back in Arlington around 1-2pm. Meet-up location will be provided upon sign up via email, so please keep an eye on your inbox! -

Starting this week, AYD will be hosting a weekly phone bank that calls voters both in Virginia and Key battleground states every Thursday. Food and drinks will be provided. Every weekend we will be getting our outdoor clothes on and knocking doors for different races across the Commonwealth and beyond!
Please be prepared to walk around for a while (think: athletic clothing, tennis shoes, sunglasses, baseball cap/visor), and keep an eye on the forecast. We recommend while canvassing that you wear sunscreen, bring water and snacks, and come with a fully charged phone as we will be using a mobile app to assist our canvassing.

📄 Arlington Democrats Messenger 📄
Below is a special request from the Arlington Democrats Beginning Friday, September 14th, we need volunteers to help us distribute the Democratic Messenger to over 52,000 doors across the county. The Messenger contains information about each of our candidates as well as information about where, when, and how to vote—it's our way of making sure voting information is accessible in every neighborhood.
Each route takes 1.5–2 hours and can be done on your own time. Put on your favorite playlist or podcast and get your steps in while keeping Arlington blue! This is a perfect for first-time volunteers or for someone who wants a flexible opportunity. Sign up for a route. PS: Messengers count as doors for the Campaign Competition |

AYD was in the top three last year and we hope to maintain our standing while also getting our amazing slate into their respective offices! Please join our local candidates, Julius D "JD" Spain for County Board, Zuraya Tapia-Hadley and Kathleen Clark for School Board along with Congressman Don Beyer (7:30 am) and Senator Tim Kaine (8:30 am) to celebrate the first day of early voting! Virginia is one of the first states in the nation to open voting for our 2024 Presidential Election.
