Hi John,

Do you walk, cycle or get public transport? Maybe you drive (that’s okay!). Whatever it is - you’re not remotely as polluting as the new Starbucks CEO who takes a private jet on their 1000 mile commute. [1]

Private jets are a symbol of a broken system that gives the super-rich a free pass to super-pollute. It’s time to ban them now. Can you add your name and call on the government to ban these super-polluters?

Tell the government to ban private jets now

The facts about private jets are truly shocking - it should be clear they’re not compatible with a fair society or a healthy planet.

Private jets are:

- 50 times more polluting than the average train ride.
- Up to 14 times more polluting than regular flights per person.
- Roughly 40% of private jet flights are EMPTY!
- One hour on a private jet emits two tonnes of carbon, the average European emits eight tonnes in a year. [2]

The UK is the private jet capital of Europe - with one taking off every six minutes. [3] Our new government has the chance to show bold ambition and ban these super-polluters for good. But they’ll only act if they have a clear and undisputed sign that the public wants this too. Can you show the government it’s time to ban private jets now?

Tell the government to take bold action and ban these super-polluters

The Olympics saw record numbers of private jets, and the industry is boasting of a recovery in ‘private travel’. [4] In a period where we’ve seen the hottest years on record, this industry should be winding down, not growing. [5]

While regular people like you and I do what we can to reduce our environmental impact, the super-rich are taking the super-p***. They’re responsible for over half of all aviation emissions while 80% of the world has never even flown! [6] If this government is serious about tackling the climate crisis then they must ban these climate-wreckers now. Make sure you act.

Thanks for all you do,
Anthony
