The second assassination attempt on President Trump — at his own home — confirms with much more evidence that the U.S. Secret Service is failing to protect President Trump.

Unlike the first attempt, which occurred at a location unfamiliar to the USSS, this second attempt took place at a location where the USSS has spent several years with the responsibility of protecting President Trump.

Trump’s golf course is home court, not some rally spot the USSS hadn’t secured before. They knew and controlled the terrain but failed at basic perimeter security.

Congress has a critical job to do here, because not only do they have the "power of the purse" over the agency, but they also have oversight privileges.

The USSS is failing to sweep an area within small arms range of where they know President Trump will be. The left-wing would-be assassin was camped out for twelve hours prior to being spotted.

Thanks to the heated rhetoric of the left, there’s no shortage of lunatics willing to take shots at President Trump. The question is, how do they keep getting so close?
