Yesterday was May 1st, International Workers Day. How did the bosses of the Alameda Health System celebrate? They posted lies on social media about the working conditions in our public hospitals.

As AHS bosses tweeted this lie, workers in the ER at Highland Hospital were caring for COVID patients without the protective head covers they need to stay safe; AHS was having untrained personnel like parking lot attendants screen patients for the virus; and just 2 weeks ago, Saber Alaoui, a nurse at Highland was fired for wearing a trash bag when no protective gowns were available.

Take a moment to stand with AHS workers fighting for safe conditions and the public health! Respond to these social media lies and tell AHS that you stand with frontline workers!

In the face of lies and retaliations, workers are fighting back. Just this week, AHS workers rallied in front of San Leandro Hospital to draw attention to the unsafe conditions facing workers and patients alike. Check out what one nurse had to say about COVID-19 and the situation in our public hospitals.

East Bay DSA stands in solidarity with our public healthcare workers. AHS workers have called on us to put these AHS bosses on blast.?

Comment on the AHS tweet and Facebook post. Let them know that the public is watching them!

In Solidarity,
East Bay DSA
