We invite you to come together for lifelong learning and to explore the values that unite us as Americans   Dear Friends, Happy Constitution Day! It’s an exciting time at the National Constitution Center and a great day for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together for lifelong learning and to explore the values that unite us as Americans. Last week, on September 10, we were honored to host the ABC News Presidential Debate. Our mission is to model civil dialogue, and it was so meaningful to host the debate at the NCC in Philadelphia, on Independence Mall, where American democracy began. As POLITICO noted, “There’s probably no more fitting venue ... In the two decades since the National Constitution Center opened its doors, it’s proved to be much more than just a temple to one of our founding documents.” Today, thousands of students will be joining us at the Center for a wonderful lineup of Constitution Day events. Khan Academy founder Sal Khan will join me for the launch of our Constitution 101 course in partnership with Khan Academy, that will empower millions of students and teachers across the country with a deeper understanding of the Constitution and its impact on their lives. We’re thrilled to unveil this tremendous resource—check it out here. NCC honorary co-chair Justice Neil M. Gorsuch, will also join us for two events, a daytime Student Town Hall and an evening America’s Town Hall program, where he will discuss his new book Over-Ruled: The Human Toll of Too Much Law. We hope you join the conversation! Next week, we’re looking forward to our 36th annual Liberty Medal ceremony on September 24, where we’ll honor America’s storyteller Ken Burns for illuminating our country’s triumphs and tragedies. As America’s 250th anniversary approaches, we’re working to spark curiosity around America’s founding principles and change civic dispositions for the better. As a private, nonpartisan nonprofit organization, we rely on the support of individuals like you to make all our work possible. Please consider celebrating Constitution Day with a special gift to support our work, and stay engaged with our community of lifelong learners as we bring light and learning to people across America!
