Have you heard of voter registration purges? In order to remove outdated or ineligible voter registrations, election officials might remove or “purge” voter data—to the tune of tens of millions of voters nationwide. In fact, 19 million voters were purged between 2020 and 2022 alone.

It’s an imperfect process, and eligible voters are sometimes purged from these rolls without their knowledge. And since the 2020 election, groups of election deniers have made it their goal to challenge voter eligibility in an effort to purge (and disenfranchise) more voters.

That’s why, even if you previously registered to vote and have voted before, it’s important to [check your voter registration before your state’s voter registration deadline]([link removed]). It only takes a moment to make sure you’ll be able to cast your ballot in this critical election year!
