Like so many in our community, I am proudly Latina. I was born in Colombia, but when my father was kidnapped by an extremist political group, we knew we needed to start a new life in the United States, where we could be free, and moved to this great country.
Miami-Dade County has welcomed me and allowed me great opportunities, and I know that the same is true for thousands of our residents. Our community is a place of diversity, freedom, and world renowned culture — and it’s thanks in no small measure to our Hispanic community!
John, I made history as the first Latina Democrat elected to the State Senate, where I developed a reputation for working across the aisle to get things done for my constituents.
Now, I’m running for Miami-Dade County Clerk of Court and Comptroller to make history again and put residents first, ensure transparency, accountability, and accessibility in our justice system, and protect our residents’ tax dollars.
¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana!
