Oral Care at Home: Natural Alternatives to Big Chem Products and Protocols

It may be common to not pay too much attention to your mouth unless issues or concerns arise. The reason this is a mistake is because the health of your oral microbiome (your mouth’s ecosystem) is intrinsically connected to the health of the rest of your body. Infections in teeth or gums left unattended can lead to systemic health imbalances. Prevention is easy with natural, home-based practices you can integrate now as part of your morning and evening routines.

History of Genetically Engineered (GE) Food and the Introduction of GE Soil Bacteria

You wouldn’t be the first person to feel confused about the difference between GMOs (genetically modified organisms) and glyphosate. In fact, the two are intrinsically connected. In simple terms, glyphosate is an herbicide/pesticide that is sprayed onto crops, including those in the human/animal food supply, to keep critters and weeds away. Because glyphosate, a.k.a. “Roundup®” is so incredibly strong (and toxic), genetically engineering (modifying, manipulating …) the crop into a new version, enables it to endure and survive the heavy chemical application.

During the first half of September 2024, AVFCA brought awareness to specific observance days by sharing our original stories that matched these themes:

National Wildlife Day: “Recycling Your Plastic: Getting to the Heart of the "Matter"

Recycling plastics may seem like a good thing, and while it’s not black and white, there are concerns to be aware of. Toxicity in recycled plastics has been documented, including dangers from recycled plastics that are mixed with “virgin” plastics. When big business and big bucks are at the core of an industry, it’s always wise to search beyond the obvious. http://tinyurl.com/recyclingplastic

World Suicide Prevention Day: “Microdosing With Psilocybin and MDMA for Anxiety, Depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)”

Psilocybin, aka “magic mushrooms,” along with MDMA, aka “ecstasy,” are being used in therapeutic clinical settings to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Major Depressive Disorder. Coined “microdosing,” using just a tiny amount of these substances in conjunction with psychotherapy, has been shown to improve mental health conditions. http://tinyurl.com/avfca-microdosing

Our team also reads hundreds of articles each week, and those of interest are shared on our social media platforms.  However, once or twice a week, our team reads an article that is profound or shares a perspective that is new or from an expert that AVFCA feels should be highlighted.  These articles are shared on our Substack.
